It’s the most natural feature request in the world. People are trained by years of Todoist, Asana, Trello, and every other task manager to think in terms of completion. Open, in progress, done. Check the box. Move the card.
But Nudga was never meant to be that.

There’s a meaningful difference between “I heard you” and “I finished it.”

Why I Don’t Compete There
The task management space is brutally crowded. Todoist has been at it for nearly two decades. Notion, Asana, TickTick, Things 3 — the list goes on. These are great tools with massive teams behind them.
I have zero interest in being the 47th to-do app.

Feature creep doesn’t happen all at once. It happens one “reasonable request” at a time. And before you know it, your simple reminder tool requires a tutorial.
I’d rather stay useful than become comprehensive.
Simple Is Hard to Defend
Saying no to features is harder than saying yes. Every feature request I decline is a user I might disappoint in the short term. But every feature I add that doesn’t belong is a step toward becoming something Nudga isn’t.
Nudga is a follow-through tool, not a task manager. The acknowledgment button isn’t a stripped-down version of a checkbox — it’s a fundamentally different interaction.
And I think that difference matters.
The Bottom Line
If you need to manage complex projects with deadlines and dependencies, use a task manager. They’re great at that.
